Second week, second strike
Some projects take longer to mature but then get quickly published. Here, we managed to report in “Biology” a collaborative effort on the epigenetics of cortical development: “H3 Acetylation-Induced Basal Progenitor Generation and Neocortex Expansion Depends on the Transcription Factor Pax6”. As a fruit of Tran Tuoc’s time here in Neuroanatomy, Sokpor et al. show that transcription factor Pax6 and H3K9 acetyltransferase KAT2A/GCN5 interact to ensure sufficient production of basal progenitors.
